Are you looking for a freelance Sydney copywriter, but unsure of the process?

To help you get a better understanding of my copywriting process and how I work, I have provided an overview from initial enquiry to completion of a typical project, no matter what size business you are or industry you work in.

No matter where you are in Australia or even the world, I can help you create engaging content that your customers and Google will love.

Copywriting enquiry

1. Copywriting enquiry

If you require copywriting work such as a blog article written or webpage created, you can get in touch with me by submitting your copywriting enquiry on the below form or via my contact page.

Let me know what you require along with your website address or company name and approximate timeframes and I will get in touch with you as soon as possible via email or phone call for a quick chat.

Copywriting briefing form

2. Briefing form

After our initial chat, I’ll send over a briefing form. This form will contain key questions about your business, your target audience and your products, alongside what copywriting services you require from me and your timeframes. This will help me understand your business better and your desired goals.

Copywriting proposal and costs

3. The copywriting proposal and cost

Based on your given answers, I will provide you with a fixed-price, no-obligation quote, for you to review and approve.

The proposal will outline the scope of the copywriting work, any additional extras you require from me, delivery timeframes and total cost.

Proposal sign off

4. Proposal sign off and 50% payment

Once you’re happy with my copywriting proposal and project terms, you just need to sign and transfer the 50% of the project fee as a deposit. Once the signed proposal and deposit is received, we can schedule a consultation call.

Copywriting consultation call

5. Consultation call

Within this consultation call via phone or zoom, we can discuss the project in more detail. Depending on the project size this can be as short as 30 minutes or up to 1-2 hours for larger, more complex projects. If you prefer to work by email, then this is fine too.

The purpose of the call is to have a clear understanding of your business needs, customer needs and desired outcome of what you want to achieve to ensure we’re all on the same page.

Drafting your copy

6. Drafting your copy

Once I have enough information to get started, I will begin drafting your copy. I will deliver this first copy to the agreed timeframes in Microsoft Word.

Edits and revisions

7. Edits and revisions

This is your chance to let me know if you require any copy amends. Most of my clients are happy with my copy first time around, or only have very minimal changes which they are happy to do themselves. However, if there’s anything you don’t like or want something added, note this using track changes in Microsoft Word and I will be happy to make the changes.

Providing me with detailed and clear feedback will speed up the time for me to make these changes. Remember – your proposal includes two rounds of changes, so the more accurate your feedback, the less likely for additional changes. Any additional rounds of edits will be charged at an hourly rate. This will be set out in your proposal.

Project completion

8. Project completion and payment

Once any edits have been made and you’ve approved the final copy, I hand over ownership to you, ready for you to use as you please. Along with the final copy, I will send through the invoice for the final 50% of the project. Payment is required within 14 days.

Client testimonials

9. Client testimonials

Now that you’ve received and are hopefully happy with the final copy, I will ask you for a testimonial to publish on my website. This will help others, like yourself requiring copywriting services to read about your experience, whilst helping to establish my credibility.
