Looking to hire a freelance copywriter and SEO specialist?

I’ve put together some of the most popular Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to help you understand more about copywriting and SEO along with everything you need to know about hiring a freelance copywriter.

If you have any further questions or you would like to work with me, you can submit your enquiry using my contact form. Alternatively, check out my blog for useful copywriting and SEO tips, tricks and information.

1. How much does copywriting cost?

My copywriting rates are affordable for all different sized businesses. I either quote a project by the hour or as a set fee, based on the time I think your copywriting will take. I will provide you with a detailed quote before I start work so there are no nasty surprises at the end.

2. Do you charge by the word?

No, I either charge an hourly rate or a set fee per project. This is because I focus more on quality rather than quantity. What’s the point of writing a 1,000-word article, when 500 words will sufficiently do the same job?

3. What is copywriting?

Copywriting is the art and science of crafting persuasive, engaging and inspiring pieces of content, urging customers to take action, whether that’s downloading an ebook, signing up to a newsletter or purchasing a product. Ultimately, copywriting is writing that is designed to sell or to persuade.

There are all types of copywriting including website copy, blogs and articles, email copy, social media posts, brochures and flyers, radio voiceovers, TV commercials and much more. However, each piece of content requires a different writing approach, and this is where a skilled copywriter can help. Take a look at my services page to view all copywriting services I provide.

4. What is SEO copywriting?

Another form of copywriting is SEO copywriting. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and this type of copy is specifically written for the web. Well-crafted SEO content helps a website rank higher in search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo to generate more organic traffic and ultimately drive more leads for your business.

Focusing on relevant long tail keywords, SEO copywriting is a fine balance between pleasing the spiders that crawl your website and keeping your customers happy by providing relevant, valuable content that is easy to read.

5. Can you get my website ranked on page one of Google?

To be perfectly honest with you, the answer is no. There are over 200 ranking factors that Google uses to rank a webpage and this involves more than just having search engine optimised copy, meta titles and meta descriptions. Other factors include things like the number of authoritative and relevant backlinks pointing to your site as well as your site architecture, any crawl errors, site speed and much, much more.

Whilst I can conduct comprehensive keyword research and provide you with highly optimised website writing and recommendations for page and site improvement, there is no guarantee that you will rank on page one, or even position one of Google.

6. Do you do small copywriting jobs?

Yes, I can handle both small and large copywriting jobs. I can help you with a blog article, social media posts, product descriptions, updating existing website content or helping with your email copywriting. Get in touch if you are interested in a small copywriting job.

7. How many years’ experience do you have as a copywriter?

I have over 10 years’ experience as a skilled writer with a BA (Hons) English Language and Linguistics Degree as well as a Diploma in Copywriting. I continue to keep my skills updated and refreshed by frequently attending content seminars, conferences or courses.
